The French government has announced that the original deadline of 30 June to apply for a French Residency Permit under the Brexit Withdrawal Agreement has been extended to 30 September 2021.
British nationals who can prove residency in France prior to 31 December 2020 will be eligible for a 5-year or 10-year residency permit for France, granting them full EU rights within France for the duration of the permit.
British nationals who can prove they have been resident in France for more than 5 years will be eligible for a 10 year residence permit and British nationals who can prove they have been resident in France for less than 5 years will be eligible for a 5-year residence permit
Please also note that all British nationals who wish to stay in France for longer than 90 days during a 180 day period, must obtain a long-stay visa/ residency permit
