We advise on all legal and practical issues arising out of the employment or engagement of employees, directors or consultants. The British common law tradition means that the terms of the employment contract are fundamental to the employment relationship in a way that can be surprising for our European neighbours.
We also provide employment advice in the context of cross border corporate transactions, such as business transfers, in relation to the daily HR issues arising in the workplace, to assist with HR crisis management and also with employment related litigation.
We regularly advise clients on employee relocations, both within the European Union and from beyond. There is often a complex interaction between the applicable employment law on one side and tax and social security contributions considerations for both employer and employee on the other.
Please contact Edzard Clifton-Dey, who is part of our specialist employment team and also the Head of the German Desk. The employment team comprises lawyers who speak fluent Danish and German, and have experience of working with the legal systems continental European countries.
